Since embarking on the Mercantile for Good journey, I have had this growing question as I run errands and continue to live my life with three little ones in tow. It started as a quick thought while picking out pajamas mindlessly at some store that starts with a “T” and ends with an “Arget”. I realized in the blink of the eye that there was an entire supply chain behind the jammies that was beyond questionable. I realized my role at that moment was to start choosing better. Yes, the pajamas were a “deal”, but the deal was no longer worth it. I realized I was awake to how I could tangibly change the world.
Now I realize there are not a thousand nonprofits out there empowering women through selling sports bras (or if there is, please let Gina know!!!!). For so many everyday household items, gifts, accessories, and clothing, there are better choices where you can know you are buying small, changing for good, and making an impact for someone specific. It feels so good.
Our goal is to make this as easy as possible for you to do good. That is why we work tirelessly to scout out causes, products, and ideas that are elegant, well-made and spread goodness.
